Frequently Asked Questions
is the space available for rent?
Absolutely! We host artists and groups whose work fits our space. We also offer the space for social events, including rehearsal dinners and small weddings.
How much does it cost to use the space?
We estimate that it costs us between $60-$75 per hour to open the space to others. We do our best to work with the budget of the artists and groups hoping to use the space. We work with individuals and organizations to decide on a mutually workable financial agreement, depending on the scope of the project.
What kind of projects do you do?
Our goal is to be an active part of the healthy, growing and thriving arts community. We hope to present and host projects in many artistic disciplines including but not limited to theater, puppetry, music, dance, poetry, film screenings, visual arts, multimedia and more. We reserve the right to choose what projects are held in our space.
Is the space available for classes, meetings and rehearsals?
Yes. The performance space is best suited for events with an audience, and for programming that occurs in one block- a full day, weekend, week or month, etc. The lower level studio space is available for rehearsals and classes as well, however we avoid booking each level independently.
is the theater accessible?
The main floor of the theater is accessible, as are the two single-stall restrooms. The lower level and studio space can be reached only by a flight of stairs.
Do you have free parking?
The theater is located in a residential neighborhood. We do not have a parking lot, however the free on-street parking is plentiful.
What are your hours?
We do not have regular business hours. The Hive is open when the space is being used. The building is available for events and activities year round, typically between 8:00am and 10:00pm.
How do you handle ticket sales?
Ticket pricing is set by the group producing the event. You are welcome to use your own ticketing system. The Hive is happy to handle all ticket sales with our in house ticketing program. Please inquire for more information.
DO you offer tours or site visits?
Absolutely! Contact us to schedule a tour.
