Jennifer Eckes is a life-long Minnesotan who has been singing professionally for nearly three decades as a soloist in jazz/pop concerts and cabaret shows, as well as in countless theatrical productions, from operas to rock musicals. A versatile vocalist, she has enjoyed musical revue and solo appearances at Twin Cities venues large and small, such as the Ordway Center, Bloomington Center for the Arts, Hastings Arts Center, Hanifl Performing Arts Center, Park Square Theatre, Phipps Center for the Arts, Bryant-Lake Bowl, Honey Lounge, Crooners, Nicollet Island Inn, and the MetroNOME. Touted by reviewers for her “strong, lovely voice” and an “engaging gift for song”, Jennifer has been called a “journeywoman musical artist” and loves performing contemporary music and Great American Songbook standards alike. Jennifer Parker has enjoyed a varied music career as an educator, performer, arranger, and songwriter. Highlights include the direction of the All-State Jazz Choirs in CO, WI and ND. In 2019 Jennifer was commissioned to write and premier her composition and arrangement, This Make Believe in celebration of the 10-year anniversary of the Jazz Education Network in Reno, NV. Her first full-length album of original songs, “The Rest of Me” includes the song, Sign of Life which premiered in the 2015 Minneapolis film festival as part of the documentary My Dream, My Right, a humanitarian awareness documentary focused on Syrian refugee children. Jennifer has been active in music education for over 20 years and is currently caring for students as a TRIO and Academic advisor at Inver Hills Community College.
